Mermaid

I wanted to make something a bit different. I've been thinking about beachy, summery things recently, so I thought I might try to make a happy fish. He turned out pretty ugly.

But he did inspire me to try to make a mermaid. I saw some lovely examples on the net and I thought I'd try to design my own. She looks a little odd (needs eyebrows and more hair) but it was fun to make something different.

I'm still planning to make some pretty geisha at some stage when I feel up to sewing something more challenging.

I haven't posted for a little while because I've just been making more babushkas. So many babushkas!

Mariachi amigo

I got bored of making pretty cakes and pretty dolls, so I made this guy.

I started with the idea of making a little man with a giant moustache. Then it was obvious he also needed a sombrero and a guitar and a vest. A mariachi is born!

Babushka

Hooray! She's so cute!

She's not too hard to make, but there are a lot of little felt pieces to assemble.

Plushies for Christmas

A long time ago I made some felt plushies and gave them to a loved one for Christmas.

This year I've decided to take up making felt plushies again. I've been looking at inspiring projects on the net and I can't wait to get started! This blog will follow my adventures in the world of all things squishy and felty.

If I can make enough nice plushies, I will set up a stall around Christmas time and sell them. Any ideas for felty projects are always welcome!
