Bouquets

Some big news - I'm getting married! So there may be a little less felting next year, but there is one big project I'm working on.

I've decided to make my own bouquets and buttonholes of felt roses. This way I can have a huge bouquet of roses at a fraction of the cost of the real thing and we don't need to worry about picking up fresh flowers from a florist on the wedding day.

The bouquets are still a work in progress because I keep wanting to add things to the bunch, but I think they're looking pretty good. All that's left is to add some more foliage and choose ribbon that will match the bridemaids' dresses.

Christmas gingerbread

It's been a busy two months. Unfortunately the Christmas stall has not happened this year, but watch out - next year the feltyblog will be coming to a market stall near you!

I haven't ended up making many Christmas felties, but I did make these gingerbread people. They are decorating the jars of chocolates and lollies that I'm giving as Christmas gifts this year.

They all have the same front but some have red backs and some have green backs. That way they can be strung up and fill a room with Christmas colours.

Merry Christmas everyone! I wish you all a fantastic new year!

Christmas trees

It's coming up to Christmas time! Time to stock up! I've made little Christmas tree brooches.

I've got more brooch pins, so I'm planning to make other Christmas-themed pins. I'm been meaning to make gingerbread people for ages, but haven't gotten around to it.

My next big project is going to be making a felt gingerbread house (so my gingerbread peeps have somewhere to hang out) - watch this space!

Macarons

A good friend recently held an afternoon tea to raise money for cancer services instead of having a birthday party. She didn't want us to buy her anything, so I decided I'd make her a little present instead.

My friend makes awesome sweets including macarons, so I thought she might like some made for her. Happy birthday K!

New bunnies

Three of my bunnies have found new homes, so I need to stock up again. Here are three bunnies made with new felt from Spotlight, so they're extra fuzzy!

Birdies

I've made more bird brooches. They're quick to make, but I think that's enough for now.

Raincloud

Another brooch - this time, a raincloud. I'm going buy some light grey felt to make some grey clouds and some chain to make dangly raindrops. I'm also thinking about trying to make the cloud itself look more interesting. Maybe I'll embroider a lightning bolt?

Cupcakes

I'm branching out and starting to make accessories. These little cupcakes will become little brooches that can be pinned onto bags, jackets, etc.

Or I might turn them into magnets, I'm still undecided.

Bunny loving

I haven't posted in ages! Warmer weather means I've spent more time outdoors, so the felting has slowed right down. However, I have completed five new bunnies (with arms this time) and I hope they'll be popular.

Bunny love

A completely random creation! I love him, he's so cute! I'm going to make him a pink girlfriend (and maybe a purple mistress)...

Mermaid

I wanted to make something a bit different. I've been thinking about beachy, summery things recently, so I thought I might try to make a happy fish. He turned out pretty ugly.

But he did inspire me to try to make a mermaid. I saw some lovely examples on the net and I thought I'd try to design my own. She looks a little odd (needs eyebrows and more hair) but it was fun to make something different.

I'm still planning to make some pretty geisha at some stage when I feel up to sewing something more challenging.

Babushka stockpiling

I haven't posted for a little while because I've just been making more babushkas. So many babushkas!
